St. Mary’s School held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new, two-story junior high school building. Construction continued throughout the year, with each grade creating time capsules that were buried in the building’s walls in mid-November. The building should be completed by spring 2014. Los Gatos Morning Rotary member Doug McNeil traveled to Washington, D.C., where he received a presidential “Champions of Change” award. McNeil was a founder of the “Lighting for Literacy” program that brings low-cost, solar-powered lighting systems to underserved communities in Mexico, Australia and India.
